A spaghetti-strap top leaves little room to hide a regular bra strap. Before choosing a solution, check the neckline, the back, and where the top’s straps sit on your shoulders. Small changes in placement can make one style work and another show immediately.
Start With the Back of the Top
Some spaghetti-strap tops have a high back that can cover a regular band, while others are lower or narrower. Put the top on and turn sideways in a mirror. You are looking for visible straps, cup edges, and band placement from the angles you will actually be seen.
Match the Bra to the Neckline
A smooth strapless bra is often the simplest option when the top has open shoulders and enough structure at the neckline. For a lower V-shaped front with covered shoulders, a deep V style may be more useful. The point is not to force one bra under every summer top; it is to choose a construction that stays hidden under that particular cut.
Do a Short Movement Test
Raise your arms, reach across your body, and sit down. The top should return to its normal position and the bra should stay covered. If you need to adjust either one repeatedly, try a different size or style before leaving home.
For shoulder-baring outfits, use our strapless fit guide to check the band before committing.
A good choice lets the top do its job without making you think about your undergarment all day.
